We are in the new house!

Well a lot has happened since I wrote last! We moved to the Alpine house. It's great! It's huge and both of you have your own rooms! We also took a 2 week long vacation to Florida. We visited your Great Aunt Karen and Uncle Jim. We also visited my college roomates and their kids and we went to Disneyworld! It was super hot! Nick you liked the Buzz Lightyear ride and It's a small world. Claire you like everything and were a great sport considering you couldn't walk yet and had to stay in your stroller the whole time! You are starting to walk and took you first two steps on 9/11/10 at the park visiting Auntie Jenn and the rest of the Berg family. Claire's bday is in just a few weeks and we are all wondering if you will walk by then! Nick you have also made huge strides because you are potty trained! It's so great!!! Ok too sleepy, love you both and daddy too.

A new house??

It's been awhile since an update....Claire, you are 8 months and Nick you are 2 1/2. It's June 8th, and I only have 2 weeks left of school until summer and I am thrilled! I am looking forward to lots of fun in the sun with both of you!!

The biggest news is that we might be buying a house. We have been living in the 2 bedroom house that is attached to Abuela and Abuelo's house in San Diego since just before Nicholas was born. We like it here but it's small and it's not the best neighborhood. On Sunday Grandma and Bumpa talked to us about buying the house that Bumpa built with the Summervilles that is next to their house in Alpine. Daddy and I wern't sure if we wanted to live in Alpine because it's kind of far from San Diego but it would be an amazing life for both of you. So...we'll see.

What are you guys doing?

Claire, you ate your first cracker last night. You are ALMOST crawling, rolling a lot and displaying your personality big time. Your hair is growing a lot and daddy and I are hoping that it might be curly.

Nick, sadly you are in your terrible twos. You want it your way or no way. You are a very picky eater and really want to only drink milk if possilbe. You used to call it nuk but now you are able to say milk and ask for it a lot. Even though you are going through your TTs we still love you! Right now you love your cars, movies and still love bugs. :O)

Day 2 of Mr. Nicholas in a big boy bed. We are getting ready for Ms. Claire to be in the crib and so Nick has to vacate the crib and start sleeping in the big boy bed. Nick, you went with Daddy to Walmart to pick out your bedding. You had lots to choose from but choose the Cars bedding. You loved it so much that you insisted on carrying it in the house yourself. You were dragging it in the house, it took awhile, but you did it! When you came in you wanted to open it right up and started rolling around in it. Daddy got your bed all ready and we all went in there to look at it and show it to you. You were excited but definately feeling the change. You were excited but when we started taking pictures you said, "no, no like it." You wanted out of the bed. And continued to run around the house like a crazy person and ignoring Daddy and I in your room. That night when it was time for bed you were skeptical but I kept telling you that the crib was for the baby and you have the big bed. You slept fine and then tonight you asked for your big bed! :O) Wohoo, hopefully we're good to go!

Claire, you haven't tried the crib yet, you are still in the cosleeper next to mommy and daddy. We'll see in the a week how that goes...

Claire you have 2 bottom teeth and are usually super happy and in great spirits!

Nick you still love bugs, mostly rollie pollies and lady bugs and want to be outside 24/7

Have I mentioned that Nick you call milk, "nilk" and it is your most favorite thing in the world, soy milk that is. You would much rather have it than eat dinner and always need it before bed and first thing in the morning. It's like your "blankie." I wonder if Claire will be that way...

Claire, tonight you were on the floor smiling up at Nick and I. Nick you went down and started tickling her feet. You love it! You laughed so big, I was full to the brim with love for you both.

EEK! I'm getting behind!

What's new? Well, Claire you have 2 teeth coming in and you are about 6 1/2 months. You like to try and sit up and you just started liking the jumper, which Nicholas LOVED at your age. People would gather around to watch you jump Nick. You would jump really hard and fast then you would slow down and sway. When we brought the jumper out for Claire, you wanted in right away and you jumped like crazy just like old times. But it couldn't handle you being so big so it fell over almost right away, dad and I laughed, you didn't think it was so funny.

Nick you absolutely LOVE bugs, mostly rollie pollies. Today you brought in about 6 of them and basically lost them all inside the house, ewww. We eventually found one in your diaper!

You two seems to love each other which is nice. Claire you seem to watch whatever Nick is doing and Nick you want to play with whatever Claire is playing with and you LOVE It iwhen she laughs.

Big day for Ms. Claire, you are getting your first tooth. It's on the bottom left. A full two months before Nick got his bottom teeth. You seem to be handling it pretty well, we'll see how it goes. :O)

Nick you got new shoes, Buzz Lightyear. You had Spiderman shoes before. Lucky for you Grandma bought both pairs. When we got home a few nights after you got them, you had me take them off and then you wanted your Spiderman shoes again. You took your Spiderman shoes and put them next to your Buzz shoes and you introduced them to eachother. You actually said, Spiderman, Buzz; Buzz, Spiderman.

Nick, for one, ever since I can remember you are an EARLY riser!! UGH! You have always been up by 6, usually even 5. Well yesterday you were up at 5 and you were shouting at us to get you up. I told you that it was still night night and you said, "Mama I want to night night in THERE!" So sweet and I think the longest sentence you've ever said. Then when you were in there you were laying between me and daddy and said, "mommy, kisses?" You are the sweetest boy ever! LOVE YOU!!

Claire, you wore a hair clip for the time yesterday! Everyone loved it and you were soooo adorable!!! LOVE YOU BOTH

Hilarious exchange between Nicholas and Claire: Nick you stick your finger inside Claire's open mouth. Claire gags and Nick you say, "Bless you baby." So funny.

Nick you wanted EVERYTHING at the grocery store, I doubt that will change anytime soon. Claire you were sitting up front in the cart for your first time and you thought it was soooo funny when mommy would duck down really fast. You laughed so loud people were staring. People were already staring because your brother was throwing a fit. That was all a distant memory when we got in the car and Nick, you wanted to listen and sing along to "Where is Thumbkin." Your current favorite. You like to listen to that song and play games like coloring and flash cards on my iphone. Claire you would like to just put it in your mouth. Well everyone except me is asleep. I guess I should go to bed too. Love you both, and daddy.

Well....no earrings for you Claire. At least not right now. We decided that we are going to wait until you are ready and want it. I look forward to the day that you decide you want it yourself and we can make a big day of it. I also know that I hate sleeping in earrings, so I want it to be your choice so that you can be ok with the aches and pains that go with it. :O)

As for Nick, you had a good time today playing with your cousins Madison and Mina. You kept shouting Mina, Mina everywhere today. You love playing with them both and like to copy everything Madison does. It's pretty adorable. Tonight we met up with Grandma and Bumpa at Parkway Plaza, we rode the merry go round and played in the play area. We had a great time until you said, mama, milk and night, night. You were done. :O)

The great earring debate. Well, I asked both my friends on Facebook and my 3rd grade students today. Among my students it was pretty much 50/50. Many of them were worried about you crying, Claire. My friends on FB came in pretty strong with WAIT. They said it should be something that You want and then you can get it when you are ready. I think I agree with that, and at the moment...I think I'm going to wait.

Tonight I had a meeting so I was home late. When I got home both of you were happy to see me. I know someday you won't be so excited but tonight I was happy you were happy. :O) Nick you were talking about pee pee, poo poo and mocos. (boogars) Claire you pretty much wanted to be held and then fell asleep. I am really looking forward to Spring Break which is next week and I hope to have a great time and get a lot done!! :O)

So the big debate at the moment is whether or not to pierce your ears Claire. Abuela said once your 6 months it's a go. Grandma was talking about it tonight as well and Aunt Karen was there and agreed it would be adorable. I had planned to wait since I waited to get mine down when I was in the 3rd grade. Ugh! I don't know what to do. I like the idea but I hate the thought of you screaming when you get them done. We'll see...stay tuned.

Nick you were so funny this morning. You jumped into bed with me and Claire and I said where's daddy? You said he was in the "bath." I said, "oh cool did daddy give you a bath last night?" and you said "yes." I said, "Did you cry when he washed your hair?" (Because you always do.) Then you said, ya...daddy...uh hair (showed pouring water) and I....oooh oooh ooooh (mimic baby crying). It was adorable the way you acted it out. Just precious and hilarious.

Big night in the Garcia household! Claire, even though you are only 6 months old (almost) you said your first word (kind of) tonight. We were all playing on the floor and you were kind of crying and making sounds and then you said very loudly and very, very clearly...."YUCKY." Right then Nicholas and I looked at each other and started cracking up. I said to you Nick, did you hear Claire say yucky? And you said, yes. Then we started cracking up again. It was so hilarious!

It's Saturday. Nick you and dad went to Sears to buy some tools he needs for changing transmission fluid on his car. You had just thrown a major fit with your uncle Noe because you wanted to run up the street and he wouldn't let you. You came in, took some time in your room, had some juice and felt much better. :O) You love music and LOVE to dance. Lately you've been singing a new song that goes like this, "Ba Ba la la shh, ba ba shhh, la la shh." It's pretty cute. You love to sing Twinkle, Twinkle; Baa Baa Black Sheep, ABCs, and Rain, Rain.

Claire you're napping. I'm sure you are tired because you are learning to sit up right now and are almost there. Nick also learned to sit up at 6 months so you are right on target. It's obvious that you can't wait to sit up and crawl so that you can play with your brother.

Your Uncle Noe just came home from prison tonight. It was really special to see him see his daughters, Madison and Mina. Nick, you were running around like a crazy kid and kind of sharing crackers with Alyiah. Mina you were showing people your smiles and then through a little fit before going to sleep. You are both asleep now and I think I am going to follow your lead. :O) Love you both.

Went to Dave and Busters tonight for Auntie Karen's bday. Nick, you got to play a car video game for the first time. You loved it but hated that the seat moved. Daddy figured out how to stop the movement and you were thrilled. Every time we started over you wanted to be sure to push the button so that it wouldn't move. After that you were having a ball as Bumpa chased you around the whole building for almost an hour. Claire, you were showing off how strong you were as you stood on the table and smiled at everyone. We still can't really figure out who you look like other than your brother. You are both asleep now and mommy is watching American Idol and Daddy is in the bathroom! Wohoo! Love you both.

March 15th 2010

As I write this blog Nicholas I can hear you in your room talking and signing to yourself instead of going to sleep. We just had daylight savings so you had to go to bed an hour early. Well...actually at this point it's right on time. :O) Claire you are sleeping next to me on a pillow, you just fell back to sleep...we'll see how long. At this point Nick you are 2 years 4 months old and Claire you are 5 1/2 months old. Tonight I gave you both a bath, Nick you still HATE to have her hair washed but Claire you don't mind it at all in fact you smile when the water pours over your face. As I type I can't really even hold my eyes open. I had an all day training today and am ready for bed! Good night babies good night blog..happy first day. :O) love you both
